What this site collects

Only what you choose to send me: by the form on the Share an experience page, by voicemail, or by email. The form asks for your name, a phone number or email address, and a sentence or two about the kind of experience. The best time to reach you and your general region are optional.

What this site does not do

It sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no advertising and no scripts, fonts or other files from any other company. Everything on these pages comes from this site.

What the hosting company keeps

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel keeps standard server logs of requests to the site, such as the address of the connection, the page requested, the time and the type of browser. When the form is used, the site’s own records note only that a message arrived and whether it was delivered, never what it said.

To slow down automated spam, the form checks how many messages arrive from the same connection in an hour. It keeps a scrambled form of the connection address in memory for that hour and does not save it.

Where a message goes, and who sees it

A message sent by the form is passed straight to the project’s email inbox and is not stored by the website. I am the only person who reads the inbox, the voicemail and the email.

How long messages are kept

Messages that don’t lead to an interview are deleted. If a message leads to an interview, your name and contact details are kept in the private list described on theConfidentiality page, and are deleted if you withdraw.

Asking for deletion

You can ask me at any time to delete a message you sent, or anything else I hold about you.
